COMMUNITY ROCKS in partnership with Community Living Toronto and LIGHTS was held November 22nd at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Exhibition Place.
Always titled “Party With a Purpose”, this year the theme became Secret Garden from Blooms to Grooves as a high energy concert event celebrating inclusion and community spirit. Guests were in for a wonderful experience of music and dance performances in this signature fundraising bi-annual event now partnering with LIGHTS for the first time in providing sustainable housing solutions for people with intellectual disabilities. We were told that CLTO began in 1948 with about 100 people. Today it is recognized as one of the largest and longest running charities with this night attracting over 1500 supporters.
All could agree that the magical garden theme was just gorgeous with CLTO volunteers as well as many guests dressing creatively to the theme of florals and whimsical blooms.
Oh, and the grooves were first presented by the awesome Dwayne Gretzky Band for a solid 2 hour set.
Later, at the following dance party, it was DJ Lynz & DJ Raptor Marc rounding out this fabulous evening that had something for all ages.
