There were some very exotic Italian vehicles parked outdoors of the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex May 21st . What a red carpet type entrance for the 2026 ICCO Air Canada Business Excellence Awards recognizing 6 individuals with diverse businesses and careers that have strengthend and have advanced Italian – Canadian relations since 1961.

We were reminded that for now more than 24 years, ICCO’s mission has always been the promoting of trade, networking, education and cultural exchange.
Of course the reception was high energy for 2 reasons. Premier Doug Ford took to the stage with a gracious welcome to this sold-out event by stressing the benefit we have with so many members coming to Canada from very humble beginnings to go on to establish companies that over decades have created so many jobs in construction, hospitality and philanthropy for our hospitals. Oh, he was almost upstaged with some vehicular competition near the podium.
With the FI Grand Prix this weekend in Montreal, although Premier Ford gathered a real crowd of attention and is seldom upstaged except for those here to witness the unveiling of the newest supercar ; the Lamborghini Temerario which was just awesome to see only moments later. They each had their moment for applause for sure.
A change this year was towards a form of hybrid dinning experience for the Ballroom with beautiful white furniture arrangements along with more traditional table settings. Red flowers and checkered flags reinforced the Grand Prix theme as well for the presentations ahead.
