The Everything 80’s Dance Party Volume 2 returned to the legendary El Mocambo with headliners Sean Jones and Cleopatra Williams. Both are powerhouse award winning vocalists with a huge Toronto following.
This dance party faithfully recreated the 80’s theme with DJ Starting From Scratch spinning throwback grooves presented on a large screen totally reminding us of those MTV and Much Music days with broadcasters playing non-stop videos that created the look of the decade and turned bands into celebrities over night.
When Sean Jones and Cleopatra Williams took to this iconic stage dressed to kill, well the crowd went wild even before the very first number. The sets included many solo and duet performances showcasing some amazing vocal ranges and dance moves as well, all backed by a hot band.
Mike Chalut returned as VJ/Host, “pumping up the jam” and “spinning the crowd around like a record” welcoming Sean and Cleopatra back to perform. First class emcee work.
I could not have asked for more. Oh, I should mention during this early July heat wave, the temperature outside was 30C at night and just as hot inside dancing to Sean x Cleopatra. See them both next for their popular Soul In The City evening at Casa Loma July 15th.
