For the past 8 years Jaymz Bee of JAZZ.FM91 has taken his birthday and this year on April 13th, that of Lorenzo DiGianfelice to a whole new level of helping other musicians and artists in our city with a fundraising event like no other.
The Jaymz Bee Caravan of Music supports the Unison Fund, a charity that provides emergency financial support for essential needs, counselling and other resources to the Canadian music community. Since 2015 an amazing $24 million has been raised.
Now imagine this annual event held at the historic Old Mill Toronto showcasing towards 24 acts performing over 3 floors in 12 unique rooms including a chapel, all night long. Whatever your musical taste it was here; jazz, R&B, soul and funk, even performance poetry.
This was a huge undertaking in coordinating so much talent for one night by artists donating their time for this important cause. Appreciation must be given to Jaymz Bee seeing the need to help the Unison Fund as well as to the staff of the Old Mill, Unison and so many volunteers.
