The 2026 Mission for Meso Gala fundraiser was held September 24th within the Jackman Lounge of the Four Seasons Centre for Performing Arts.
This was an important evening towards raising funds to support the work done by The Canadian Mesothelioma Foundation (CMF). Despite a dramatic decline in the use of asbestos since the early 1980’s in Canada, the incidence of mesothelioma here and around the world is still on the rise as a fatal disease that silently does not present symptoms until decades after asbestos exposure. Many occupations have effected their workers and now CMF supports those patients and their families.

On this evening, Line Isabelle-Laird was honoured for raising close to $100,000 since 2020 in memory of her husband Scott R. Laird who passed in 2019 from early exposure to asbestos as a young man working in the fiberglass industry.

TV personality Nicole Servinis was impressive as emcee looking after that formal presentation as well as introducing several arias performed up close, by three talented musicians of the Canadian Opera Company.
Thanks to Anya Keefe for my personal invitation.
