Each Wednesday evening this summer a tribute concert is featured in the Summer Series of nightly musical performances at Casa Loma.. As a young musician in the 1970s Lou Pomanti was highly influenced by the R&B funk stylings of Tower of Power. Especially because their awesome horn section was still different to other popular bands of that decade with more edge and improvisation.

The result decades later for Lou was in creating his way of faithfully celebrating this original ToP band now back touring in a 58th year with his own collection of legendary local musicians under the name Oakland Stroke, this evening June 25th featuring the one and only George St. Kitts on vocals and man can he move on the stage.
Oh and speaking of legendary people, another person who influenced Lou Pomani greatly was keyboardist and co founder of Toronto’s own Lighthouse; rock royalty for sure, Paul Hoffert was in the audience with his wife Brenda. What a night this was.
